Mind your tongue {Surrey baby photographer}

I said in a post a couple of weeks ago that I’d done a funny mini-session with my baby. He is now coming into the best age to photograph babies, so he’s getting very used to having the camera pointed in his direction! One morning when H was at nursery, I decided to do a little shoot with him which made me laugh as he had his tongue constantly sticking out! I was shooting for about 20 mins and seriously didn’t get ONE photo without it out hanging out! I tried everything, even resorting to pushing it back in (don’t worry, I don’t do this with my clients’ babies!) but in the end decided to embrace it and we ended up with many shots like this one below.

I’m pleased to say that he is out of this little ‘tongue’ phase and I did another session this week with him where the tongue didn’t even make an appearance!

H has been loving the snow in the garden this week as you can see!

Now, I know it’s not the best snowman in the world. I don’t want to make excuses (but I’m going to!), but this was my first snowman building attempt since I was about 8 and at the risk of sounding like I work for British Rail, it was the ‘wrong kind of snow’ and just wouldn’t stick. And I understand I’m not the only person who had ‘snowman-building’ problems this week!

I just want to update you on availability. I had my last shoot this year with a lovely family in Twickenham (hope to post images on here soon) and I’m now not taking any family session bookings until March onwards to allow me to spend some quality time with my boys and also prepare for my first photography workshop in February.  All of my weekend sessions are now booked up until end of May (although I have one session free over the Easter weekend) and I have weekday availability from end of March onwards. I am generally booked up 2 months in advance so if you are thinking about a spring or summer shoot for your family, please contact me now so we can get your session in the diary.

And I was so delighted that all of the places on my first ever Oh Snap! photography workshop for parents sold out within a week of announcing the date! I have had so much interest in the workshop that I am definitely going to be running it again in May. I am going to be sending an email to people who have expressed an interest to give them a chance to book before announcing the date on this blog. If you would like to receive that email, please drop me a line and I’ll add your name to it.

I’ll be posting images next week from one of my favourite ever shoots. I’ve had to sit on my hands not to post them before now but it was a surprise for the Dad’s 40th birthday this weekend. I can’t wait to show you!
