SO YOU WANT TO BE
A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER?
Some of the parents who come on my workshops get the photography bug and then start dreaming of becoming a professional photographer. I understand, I was there once myself!
However, as with many things, it’s not as easy as it looks, and many family photographers don’t turn any profit at all. So you could end up spending a lot of money on equipment and essential business tools and spending valuable time away from your family and yet you’re not actually earning any money!
So please don’t think of it as a quick and easy way to make money doing something that you love.
However, if you are creative, business-minded and exceptionally hard-working (and don’t mind working into the early hours sometimes!) then it is a highly rewarding business to start.

I get many emails from aspiring professionals asking for advice and I’m afraid I often can’t spend time replying if I am busy with shoots, editing and workshops, so please don’t think I’m being rude if you don’t hear back straight away! I do offer a very limited amount of mentoring sessions for professional photographers each year and I also run the Delight Retreat once a year for professional phtoographers. See more details here.
